Formation of the AG Nachhaltigkeit
Upon a student’s request, the skuba tried to convince the University of Basel to sign the Climate Letter (Global Universities and Colleges for the Climate; The SDG Accord) and to declare a climate emergency. In talks with the President’s Board in November 2019, it became clear that the university would not do so as, in their view, these two symbolic acts would not lead to positive change.
Instead, the President’s Board aims for an improvement of the sustainability at the university and increased the budget for the Sustainability Office in order to promote student projects in this area. From this initiative, the AG Nachhaltigkeit (Working Group Sustainability) formed.
Projects
Here you find an overview of all our running and finished projects that were implemented as part of the AG Nachhaltigkeit. In addition to the four main projects, the AG has also started three smaller projects – an Info-Hub providing information about sustainable issues, a guide with tips for a more sustainable student life and a sustainable recipe book. You can find general information on the temporary, now finished projects here.
Click the buttons on the right to find out in more detail what the projects are all about!
If you are interested in participating in an ongoing project or have any questions about them, you can contact the person responsible for the project directly. You can find the contact details on the individual project sites.
