Team
The AG Nachhaltigkeit Team is made up of varying grades of involvement.
Board
The Board is made up of 10 members, including the founding members of the AG Nachhaltigkeit and at least one member of the skuba Board. At least half of the members are students at the University of Basel. The members are usually self-nominated according to how much time and energy they are able to invest. The tasks of the Board include working closely with the Core Management Team on project management as well as structural and organizational decisions; financial decision making and annual revisions of the accounts, as well as fundraising efforts and budgeting; and public relations and communication in the form of community outreach, advertisement for different projects, and an active and informative social media presence.
Core Management Team
The Core Management Team is currently made up of Stefano Dias Machado, the general manager, and Sina Sohneg, an intern, both of whom work for the Department of Sustainability at the University of Basel. Their tasks include the direct contact to our University; project management; the organisation and mediation of the Monthly Meetings as well as the taking of minutes; the management of internal communication; the collaboration with the Board; and an advisory role in supporting project groups.
Project groups
There is also a community of AG Nachhaltigkeit members who are actively involved in projects. The amount of time and energy they invest is up to each individual member, and there are a number of different projects for people to be involved in. Board members are part of the project groups to ensure consistent communication with the Board, but anyone and everyone is welcome to join project groups.
Active members
There are also active members of the AG Nachhaltigkeit who are not involved in project planning but take part in the Monthly Meetings. Here they ask questions, give advice, or listen to the month’s updates. Their degree of involvement is also entirely up to them.
Pool of Experts
Last but not least, there is a Pool of Experts which is made up of interested members of the university’s I-IV Groups. These members can be described as being more towards the passive end of the member spectrum: they engage, advise and support the AG Nachhaltigkeit with their knowledge in specific fields when it is needed.
