For the fourth monthly meeting of the year, both well-known and new interested faces met virtually punctually at 5 p.m. on Zoom. After taking many project ideas with us from the last Monthly Meeting, some have already been put into practice. A series of lectures and a discussion club have already been organized as pilot projects for the remainder of the spring semester. The group is also trying to set up a podcast on sustainable topics. Further, at the monthly meeting, the idea arose to expand the lecture series into a lecture series in the fall semester. To get this idea off the ground, the project group is in contact with the sustainability office to see how such a lecture series can best be implemented.

The green roof project has now decided on the two roofs which will be greened this summer. Unfortunately, the funding application handed in to Swisslos was rejected, but the group hopes that the Christian-Merian-Foundation will soon give them positive feedback on their application.

Before the pilot project “Uni Basel on Ecosia” can be carried out at the Faculty of Psychology, the group will soon have one last conversation with the administrator, who will decide on the final implementation of the project. The search engine is to be installed on all new computers in the faculty with a recommendation to all employees and students to make the switch to Ecosia on their own devices in order to help ensure that at least as many of the 560 trees that have already been planted will be added within a short time.

After a minor revision, the recipe book was uploaded again to the website and is now entirely finished. The Info Hub is also running as planned and has already generated quite a few responses. The everyday guide to a sustainable student life is currently being visualized by a graphic designer and should be ready right on time for the new semester. The meeting also saw people interested in projects for changing clothes and a repair café. They are now considering how the projects could be set up. We hope to be able to bring you more updates on this soon and look forward to the stories at the next monthly meeting at the end of May!

As always, you are invited to get involved in an ongoing or a new project in the AG Nachhaltigkeit. The best thing to do is to contact us by e-mail or drop by at the next monthly meeting to present your idea and get to know the group.
