Members of the AG Nachhaltigkeit are of the opinion that there is a need for more detailed handlings and discussions of sustainability topics at the university – both for people who have been interested in sustainability for a long time and people who are new to the issue, and who are looking to connect with likeminded people and experts alike. We feel that Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have a certain responsibility in creating spaces for discussions and learning outside of its curricula – not only for their members, but for society at large. Following the momentum of the Sustainability Week Basel 2021, the AG Nachhaltigkeit wants to make use of their thriving network of experts, who are interested in knowledge exchange and collaboration, to create a lecture series and a discussion club. The first lecture and discussion club taking place in May 2021 will serve as a trial for our monthly lecture series, which will be offered during the Fall Semester 2021. Both the lecture series and discussion group are open to the public.
